Why laser therapy?

Therapeutic lasers help reduce pain and inflammation, improve chronic joint disorders, speed wound healing and promote nerve and tissue regeneration.

We are now incorporating laser therapy - using the Avant LZ30 ProZ-Vet - into most of our patient treatments, alongside our usual hands-on modalities. Laser sessions usually take around five to ten minutes and often have immediate results. Laser treatments are safe, non-invasive and have no adverse side effects.

How does laser therapy work?

Photons of light penetrate the tissue to accelerate the body’s natural healing process. These photons are absorbed by the mitochondria and produce a

photochemical change in the cells. When animals are sick, under stress, or aging, nitric oxide increases in the cell, oxygen absorption by the mitochondria is compromised and free radicals are produced. This leads to inflammation, cell death and a host of other health issues. With photobiomodulation (wavelengths of red light and infrared light), oxygen consumption is restored, ATP production is stimulated (adenosine triphosphate is the primary energy-carrying molecule in all living cells) and cellular repair and regeneration is restored.

Why are so many veterinarians and veterinary therapists using laser therapy?

Animals heal up to 50% faster. They relax with laser, their cortisol levels decline and breathing slows. Laser treatment can also make a big difference for owners - especially those going through something traumatic with their pets - because the treatment is non-invasive, works quickly and animals respond well.

How can this expand your practice?

The results of laser therapy often exceed owners’ expectations and this builds loyal advocates. Positive word of mouth can help create a steady stream of new customers. Because laser treatments are short, you can treat more animals. You’ll also be able to expand the number of conditions you treat. Return on investment with an Avant laser can be achieved within the first year. Many practitioners create an additional source of revenue when they buy two lasers and rent one to their customers for home use.

Why consider an Avant laser?

The LZ30 ProZ-Vet is a Class 3B laser with the highest power in its class. Class 3B lasers are exceptionally safe and do not require the additional safety precautions of Class 4 lasers. The LZ30 ProZ-Vet is two lasers in one - both red and infrared. These two wavelengths produce separate and synergistic effects. As a result, absorption of light is maximized and treatment of various conditions is enhanced.

The LZ30 ProZ-Vet is the lightest, smallest and easiest to use laser on the market. It’s cordless and weighs just 140 grams. You can slip it in your pocket and easily go from room to room in a clinic or out in the field.
